Vicki Garlock

Vicki Garlock has an undergraduate psychology degree from Brown University and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama-Birmingham with specialties in neuroscience and cognitive development. 

She spent 11 years as a professor at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, N.C., where she taught courses on human development, biopsychology and learning/cognition. She has published on the early predictors of reading achievement, the use of service learning and technology in the college classroom, and the extension of the adolescent period into the college years.

She lives in Asheville, N.C., with her husband and two children.
